USG's new friend Cheryl just recommended Elderslie Farm in Kechi, Kansas. She says: "It's a beautiful farm where they grow their own produce for weekend breakfasts and gourmet dinners in the summer months. They grow blackberries and make scones out of them as well as well. Beautiful property, a real treat!"
The web site for the farms explains the meaning of the name: "The word Elderslie means where the Elders are buried and have found peace.” The owners explain: "We are home here, and we invite you to share the delight and peace of rootedness in a place. We measure our success in how clearly guests come to share our affection for this place through their visits here."
This quote on the Elderslie Farm makes USG want to get to Kansas asap:
“Without affection for the subject, a work with feeling and passion is not possible.”

Elderslie Farm is just North of Wichita and about 3 hours drive southwest from St Louis. The farm's Bramble Cafe is open in summer and they also have special dinners and other events. Check out their Facebook page; it will make you want to get in your car and head to Kansas.
See you soon Iowa.
