The National Heirloom Expo is happening September 5-7, 2017 in Santa Rosa, California. Santa Rosa is the county seat of Sonoma County and in the heart of the famous wine country about an hour north of San Francisco.
This colorful expo has exhibits, vendors and features speakers on gardening, food, and farming. One of the sponsors of the expo is Hudson Valley Seed Co, which is a favorite of ours as we live just down the road from their farm in Ulster County, New York.
USG will not be able to make it to Santa Rosa for the expo this year but maybe we can do a road trip in 2018. We love vegetable and people diversity (and vino) so this event is totally up our rainbow flag alley.
What's cool about the National Heirloom Expo is they are not afraid to strongly advocate against the toxic herbicides and pesticides that come along with mono-culture, big ag, GMO farming. The Heirloom Expo, like USG, supports Measure M in California! Sonoma county please support farmers, consumers and our children. Join neighboring coastal counties who have improved their agriculture by banning toxic GMOs crops! Support our future and support our local farmers, not Monsanto!
See you in Northern California wine country soon, we hope.
